Windfall Lake
If you want modern and fancy, Windfall is not it. But if you want a 2-4 person rustic but comfortable handcrafted log cabin in an absolutely beautiful quiet and remote spot with mature jack pine and black spruce, a south facing exposure, and the most beautiful sand beach this side of Waikiki, you will love this place. It has all the basics, including a wood stove for heat, a propane stove and BBQ for cooking, and excellent fishing. Bruce likes to line a canoe or boat through a short stretch of the Nemo river for a day trip to Snake Lake, which also has beautiful beaches, lots of wildlife, and absolutely fantastic fishing for unusually large walleyes and huge northern pike. Some people fly in with a canoe, spend a few days, and then paddle out to the rail head for pickup by the train for a ride back to Armstrong. If you have a party of more than 4, and some of the party does not mind tenting, there are several nearby very nice tent sites on nice sand beaches.
